This is my second book of the Twisted Legends Collection I’ve read and it’s far better than the first one in the collection. There are hardly any grammatical errors. The story flows really nicely.Veronica really knows how to write some good characters. Lily’s story really breaks your heart. The cruelty she’s been through, all of it. And when you watch her progress as a character throughout the story, it’s so satisfying.Normally in a RH I have a favorite guy that I gravitate towards. But I love all three of them.Matthias is a trickster demon and goes about life with laughter and giggles and just really brings a lightness to the poly relationship they have going on.Alder is a warrior. Just a big, beefy dude that has a feral side to him when it comes to Lily. He’s very formidable and I adored the “hunting” scene in the woods between him and Lily. Whew, that was steamy.Vale was a giant jerk in the beginning, but later on in the story we learn why and the backstory is actually quite heartbreaking. When he finally drops that mask, it’s all in and it’s so sexy to read about.The spice in this book is phenomenal, but be aware that it doesn’t start right away like that. This is a slow-burn with a good build-up. It doesn’t turn into a RH right away either which was a nice touch.Overall, this was a really great read. It’s not really dark other than Lily’s past abuse and the violence and gore with the fight scenes. If anyone is concerned about every book in this collection being too dark for their tastes, rest assured that this is a good blend of dark and happy moments.Bonus that the scene in the beginning of the book with the cemetery being super spooky. Just in time for spooky season!
